My fashion career began at the iconic Harrods, where I worked as a brand specialist, representing esteemed designers such as Donna Karan. Having followed my passion for fashion after graduating from Royal Holloway University in 2000 with a 2:1 honours degree in Social Policy and Politics, my next step felt like a natural progression - joining Brown's, the legendary boutique on South Molton Street. There, I had the extraordinary privilege of working alongside co-founder Mrs Joan Burstein, whose visionary buying transformed Brown's into a destination for previously undiscovered talent, including John Galliano and Vivienne Westwood. It was an invaluable foundation that deepened my love for the industry immeasurably.
Two years later, I was presented with an exciting opportunity to join Selfridges as a personal shopper - one of the world's most celebrated department stores. Collaborating with Trinny and Susannah and styling an eclectic mix of clients, each with distinct tastes and personalities, further ignited my creative passion. It was here that I truly understood that personal styling was never simply about putting outfits together - it was about connecting with people on a deeper level and empowering those with low self-esteem to embrace their style and walk taller.
In 2005, I took a bold leap of faith and launched Style Icon. This milestone allowed me to spread my wings, travel the world in pursuit of fashion inspiration, and build something entirely my own. Leaving the security of a full-time job was undoubtedly a risk - but one I felt ready and resolute to take. Between 2011 and 2013, I began mentoring students and delivering retail courses, an experience that inspired me to complete a PGCE and collaborate with the Fashion Retail Academy in central London to deliver an Introduction to Personal Styling course.
Since founding Style Icon, I have embraced a diverse range of styling opportunities - from wardrobe decluttering and bespoke personal styling to red-carpet styling for prestigious events, including WellChild and the Elton John AIDS Foundation Pre-Oscar Dinner.
In 2023, I was honoured with a Diamond Special Recognition Award Worldwide for my work in empowering women and young people through fashion. In March 2025, I was nominated for a Power of a Woman Award - a deeply meaningful recognition of the impact I strive to make in the fashion world every day.
