Welcome back (fashionistas) to Style Icon’s The F Word!! This week, we’d like to bring you a taste of men’s fashion!! Now that the London Collections are over, Style Icon would like to keep the momentum going. Who is your favourite male Style Icon at the moment? One person springs to my mind being the talented as well as stylish Mr Pharrell Williams. Since sporting Vivienne Westwood’s mountain hat at this year’s Grammy Awards, there suddenly became a huge demand for this look amongst men and women which has generated almost a year long waiting list!!
Vivienne Westwood is an inspiration to us all!! Her innovation, and Pharrell’s charismatic style are a match made in heaven!! Only a Style Icon like him could pull off a hat like that, and bring back a past trend with such coolness and demure. The force behind this reinvention stems back to Vivienne Westwood’s earlier days of punk & retro style where she launched her second collection known as the Buffalo Girls Collection (Autumn-Winter 1982-83). This comprised of a wool felt hat, and baggy garments to reflect the style of Peruvian women. Rather than sport a replica, I would advise you all to buy the real one at a cost of only £95!!! However, to compliment your mountain hat it might be worth (guys) checking out this oversized sweater from Asos or Zara Mao Shirt!! For a quality pair of trousers you may want to invest in a baggy pair by Alexander McQueen!! Boom, your retro style is in a league of its own!!
