“Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend” a song once performed by Marilyn Monroe. I think that every woman who loves the finer things in life would totally agree with Marilyn on this one!! If only she was present at the Spectra networking event hosted by Boodles which took place at the beautiful Savoy hotel on Wednesday 21st October. What a great way to spend an evening with Quintessentially Gifts who invited Style Icon along – guests had the pleasure of experiencing a Diamond Masterclass with champagne flowing throughout the evening. It felt like Marilyn Monroe was there in spirit as the room sparkled with beautiful diamond jewellery giving meaning to those very same words she sang that have now become a famous saying. Imagine a treasure chest filled with delightful goodies unbeknown to man, and then suddenly like waves to water, you feel alive! The ambience felt so alive indeed as guests tried on some amazing diamond rings, and necklaces with a huge smile on their face. Boodles has been established since 1798. Rich in British heritage, the Boodles story began in Liverpool with William Wainwright (the Great-Great-Great Uncle of the youngest generation of the family running Boodles today) initially designing pocket watches. The story lives on as Nicholas Wainwright, Chairman highlights
“Boodles has a great heritage and a really exciting future ahead. We are delighted to see it shine as a very special unique British brand” On that note, Boodles has collaborated with The Royal Ballet; their latest ‘Pas de Deux’ collection inspired by the emotional aspects of dance.
A lot can be said about the Spectra event. It was a great way to network but you also walked away feeling satisfied that you learnt something educational and inspiring especially as Cornelia Finch, Gemmologist, gave such an insightful talk about the process behind how Diamonds are soured and prepared for the mass market. One top tip “Remember the Four C’s: Cut, Clarity, Colour, and Carat” when buying a diamond. Here are some of the guests’ top favourites that were worn and frequently talked about on the night. Enjoy!!
