A classic suit will never date. The summer season of weddings has arrived so my advise, as a stylist, is to invest in either a blue or grey suit – single breasted with a flat fronted trouser to match. As part of Exclusive Tailoring’s made-to-measure service, Richard Thompson provides an initial consultation where you’ll choose a colour for your suit from a book of colour swatches. He will then take your measurements so the suit is individually made to your exact body proportions. A bespoke suit is made entirely from scratch which is more expensive and another service offered by Exclusive Tailoring. Made-to-measure is sewn from a standard-size base pattern which closely corresponds with the customer’s measurements. Once the base pattern is altered to match the customer’s measurements the garment is then constructed from this. There’s also an opportunity to customise the fabric and detailing.
