We are now only a couple of months away from the Big Four – New York City, London, Milan, and Paris Fashion Week. As a lead up to this crazy time on the fashion calender, Paris Haute Couture Week took place from Thursday 3rd July – Friday 11th July 2014!! For Style Icon, it was time to get ready, steady, hot footing it all the way to Paris via Euro Star to see a line up of some of the best fashion couturiers in the entire world!! It was such a pleasure to be in Paris; a city full of culture, architectural timelessness, and of course magical fashion all in the hands of Parisian tradition filled with sensuality, glamour and exquisiteness!! “Je ne sais pas ce que” is all that springs to mind!! “I don’t know what” it is about Paris but it leaves a lasting impression on you!!

Rami Al Ali Autumn/Winter 2015 Collection
Syrian-born designer Rami Al Ali returned to Paris for his sixth season to present his Autumn/Winter 2014/15 collection which served as a tribute to the mysteries of the hidden rainforest. The presentation took place in the historic Musee des Arts Decoratifs.
Silhouettes captured curves and lines, skimming along the body. There was much attention to detail with intricate embroidery and three-dimensional weaving, a blend of lace, silk organza, gazar, taffeta and chiffon lame. All of this contributes to the couturier’s signature luxurious finishes:
