Style Icon’s The Fashion Word: Depicool’s Latest Golden Girl
As busy individuals, it’s very easy to neglect ourselves. I am convinced that most women have their own daily or weekly beauty regime they set out to achieve. Whether or not this is consistently adhered to…Hmm! I would say, probably not!! However, once you discover the right beauty clinic who offer bespoke packages to suit your needs then you may begin to find what was once a beauty task suddenly becomes a beauty obsession. Through word-of-mouth recommendation, I paid a visit to Depicool beauty clinic based in the City of London (Liverpool Street) who specialise in permanent hair reduction and fat reduction for men and women as well as offer a range of beauty services. I had my very own bespoke extraction facial with gold; an experience that will transform you into a gold goddess which can easily become addictive. We all have different skin types so an initial consultation is provided by a Depicool therapist to determine the best products to use via their signature eberlin method which prides itself on a philosophy for understanding beauty and is put into practice through specialised and global teaching.
Eberlin’s cosmetics use formulas that combine elements with 100% purity which are free from colouring matter and synthetic preservatives with full repair capacity. It is a Spanish brand now celebrating 30 years conducting research into and developing professional natural biological cosmetics.
My initial impression of Depicool was one of warmth due to the serene atmosphere and pleasant therapists. Teeja, who is one of Depicool’s main therapists, explained which products she would use during the facial treatment. As I have sensitive skin Teeja recommended a few products suitable for my skin type removing any that were too reactive. I found this approach extremely professional which made me feel at ease knowing my therapist is product-aware. I had the choice between a massage or extraction based facial. I chose the latter so as to give my skin a deep clean for clearer skin.
The Treatment
The first step involved removing all my make-up. It was time to ditch the red lips for a more natural look. Teeja used a sensitive ‘Dermoprotective Balancing Fluid’ by Eberlin to cleanse my face making my skin feel supple.
Then came the exfoliation process for which Teeja used a ‘Gold Luz de Asia’ peeling scrub. Next, to prepare for the extractions, Teeja steamed my face for several minutes. I almost fell asleep during this stage as it was so warm and comforting.
Next up, were the extractions which is not the most pleasant of experiences. If you are sensitive to pain, although the extractions felt more uncomfortable than extremely painful, I would suggest having a massage based facial. Nonetheless, I felt the need for extractions in order to remove all the invisible gunk trapped in my pores. Teeja simply used gloved fingers and tissues for this. While squeezing out my face with utter precision, Teeja explained she was targeting my problem areas: T-zone, nose, chin, and random spots along my cheeks. “I can do extractions all day” says Teeja. Somehow I found comfort in her words; feeling relaxed simply because Teeja felt confident about what she was doing. I then had a skin hydrating masque by Dermalogica applied to my face to sooth the extractions after which a ‘Hydra Global Sensitive Balancing Lotion’ was used (by Eberlin) to tone my face. Teeja then used another product by Eberlin – ‘Equilibrium-10 Hydra Vital Oxygenating Cream’ to moisturise my face. I was advised that all products would help to balance my skin’s pH level (the protective layer of our skin referred to as the acid mantle which is made up of free fatty acids; mixing with amino acids from sweat to create the skin’s pH).
The final stages of the facial involved applying 24K gold sheets onto my face to help slow down collagen depletion, and to inhibit free radical ageing. I was transformed into a golden girl which I can definitely get used to. Once the dissolvable gold sheets were massaged into my face, my skin looked and felt brand new.
I would highly recommend the extraction facial with gold treatment. As Teeja advised, it’s important to have a facial once a month or visit a skincare specialist four times a year to cover the seasons. One top tip I took away with me – look after your skin which needs to be fed regularly just like our stomachs do. Moisturise your skin at least twice a day to give it the nourishment it needs. Be your own skincare advocate with super healthy, glowing skin. Depicool unlimited allows you to pop in whenever you like for certain beauty treatments. Why not kick-start your new year’s resolution from now with some high quality ‘me’ time at Depicool.
