Style Icon’s The Fashion Word: Cucumba’s Spectre-acular Touch!
Cucumba’s Spectre-acular Touch
The October screening of 007 Spectre which took place at The Royal Albert Hall saw many high profile celebrities grace the red carpet including ‘Bond’ himself Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes, Monica Belluci, Dame Shirley Bassey, the Duke & Dutchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and more. Guests were in for a real treat that evening having been invited to the British Museum, after the premiere, which was transformed to match the films opening scene of the Day of The Dead Carnival in Mexico.
Cucumba along with their sister company Depicool set up a cool ‘Day of The Dead’ themed nail bar in the British Museum not to mention enticing guests with beauty treats. Glitzy nail art and glitter lips were thrown into the mix to create a ‘Spectre-acular’ touch at this epic event. The good news is, you can experience these lavish beauty treatments yourself in preparation for your own personal engagement if you feel you have missed out! We all have a bit of ‘Miss Money Penny’ sass in us so let’s pay homage to all those ladies who are confident in their own skin by heading down to Cucumba or Depicool for some beauty care that will embrace our physical wellbeing. Style Icon decided to spoil herself to Cucumba’s PitStop Express Manicure prior to a networking event. For the record, the entire experience will leave you yearning for more pampering!
From the get-go, Cucumba’s beauty therapist was attentive; initially filing Style Icon’s nails to a preferred shape before buffing and then soaking them in warm water. An oil treatment was then applied to the cuticles after which a light moisturiser was used to assist with a soothing hand massage! Style Icon felt like a spoilt teenager but this feeling was soon replaced with a bit of attitude after choosing to wear Essie’s 774 ‘Trophy Wife’ nail polish in deep teal pearl! Anybody would feel pretty sassy in this statement colour. Sometimes, you don’t always need accessories to compliment an outfit. Well-kept polished nails will easily make a statement in themselves! It’s like going for a job interview in a high-end fashion store without impeccable nails which tends to be noticed more often than not. As the saying goes, “less is more” so it’s worth paying attention to smaller details that will leave a lasting impression.
As a stylist, one of the best fashion and beauty tips Style Icon can give is to always have a little black dress readily available in your wardrobe! It’s also a great base to work from! You can go crazy with accessories but, if you do this, play-down other aspects of your look perhaps by wearing a classic shoe. If you’d prefer to feel like a fabulous ‘Trophy Wife’ then why not go all out with Essie’s range of nail polish! This will indeed add an artful splash to your look! You won’t just look like you are going to a premiere but rather look and feel like the star of the night!
