Style Icon’s The Fashion Word: Aruna Seth Meets Herve Leger
A perfect pair of shoes does not an outfit make. Hence our delight when we were invited to the Herve Leger x Aruna Seth fashion collaboration last week (23rd July 2015), where bold yet comfortable luxurious pumps were combined with innovative and figure flattering dresses.
Held at the 5-star Jumeirah Carlton Tower, dubbed the essence of Knightsbridge (where else could they have possibly hosted this fashion collab?) we were shown the very best pieces from both designers. Think pearlised leather heels decorated with crystal butterflies and floor-sweeping bandage gowns in lipstick red. Their collections are rich, fashionably superfluous and womanly. Encapsulating succinctly what it is women want when it comes to occasion ensembles and footwear – comfort, style and individuality.
Our favourite? Well if we must choose it has to be Aruna’s Bubblegum pink suede pumps embellished with the crystal butterfly – so legally Elle Woods we can see ourselves wearing this whilst sipping a bramble at Sky Garden. Leger’s Kayin Signature Essentials Gown was another standout piece, though we certainly wouldn’t pair the two together! If you wanted to match the seductive gown with a pair of Aruna’s I would suggest the Mezza Farfella Black Seude Cut Out pair. Sophisticated and sexy all in one, like Leger’s fashion designs themselves.
Though separately both designers are fashion-forward and revered in their own right within the industry, it was made clear however that together their creations are a harmonious union of opulence, allure and worldliness. Fingers-crossed we see another fashion collaboration with these two talents next year.
