As a lead up to this crazy time on the fashion calender, Paris Haute Couture Week took place from Thursday 3rd July – Friday 11th July 2014!! It was such a pleasure to be in Paris during fashion week; a city full of culture and architectural timelessness, and of course magical fashion influenced by Parisian tradition and international couturiers to mark this special occasion on the fashion map!! “Je ne sais pas ce que” is all that springs to mind!! “I don’t know what” it is about Paris but it leaves a lasting impression on you!!

Style Icon remembers opening this invitation!! It could not be missed!! In beautiful silver letters read the ‘Lumina’ Collection!! Style Icon had the privilege of attending the ILJA fashion show, and also on behalf of FBC Universal Networks as their style editor!! This was a great show! Fashion couture in its simplest form but yet very contemporary, elegant and on trend!!
Ilja Visser is a dutch designer who launched her first fashion collection in 2005 which marked her fate of becoming one of the most talented fashion couturiers in the world!! Each piece of her collection shows a raw, cutting-edge interpretation of fashion, one that shows a somewhat artistic approach to fashion. The ILJA collection exhibits an organic and sculptural distinction. Fabric textures are light, shimmering with fresh colours to create a cool summer breeze vibe. Lots of asymmetrical silhouettes and futuristic connotations in this collection. Confident fashion for a lady with quiet self-assurance!!
