We are about 5 weeks away from the Big Four – New York City, London, Milan, and Paris Fashion Week. As a lead up to this crazy time on the fashion calender, Paris Haute Couture Week took place from Thursday 3rd July – Friday 11th July 2014!! It was such a pleasure to be in Paris during fashion week; a city full of culture and architectural timelessness, and of course magical fashion influenced by Parisian tradition and international couturiers to mark this special occasion on the fashion map!! “Je ne sais pas ce que” is all that springs to mind!! “I don’t know what” it is about Paris but it leaves a lasting impression on you!!

Julien Fournie Autumn/Winter 2014-1015
Just from the sleek black invitation alone, Style Icon anticipated a classically beautiful show!! From the get go, you knew Julien Fournie was bringing to his audience couture fashion at its best!! One of the must-see fashion shows during Paris Couture Week with a quality FROW. The latter being an immediate giveaway that Style Icon & FBC Universal Networks were in for an exquisite treat!! The collection showcased classic, timeless shapes such as A-Line and straight cut dresses with a contrasting colour palette of black and autumnal shades of purple and grey to bright pink, yellow and green. The contrasts in colour and shape, I guess, depict the couturier’s creative inspiration coming from “German expressionism, and in some works by painter Otto Dix, in the way he puts colours side by side to create emotion”
Julien Fournie had the confident woman in mind when designing this collection as each piece appears to make a real statement like the woman who is not afraid to express her opinion!! Beautiful fashion for the strong woman with a powerful inner beauty!!
