Style Icon’s Fashion ‘n’ Beauty Word: 5 Benefits of IBX Treatment
Just when I thought shellac was enough to keep my nails looking good for a couple of weeks I discovered, what appears to be growing in popularity, yet another trendy nail treatment designed to restore weak nails during a resting period from consistent shellac appointments or acrylic nail extensions. For those of us who like to keep up with current beauty and fashion trends we will of course follow brands and visit those stores that keep us in the loop of what’s current. This is the reason why Depicool is one of the most popular beauty clinics in the City. I recently booked myself in for their latest IBX nail treatment which is proving to be a notable beauty trend for summer; a two-part system that offers revolutionary benefits.
Now is the perfect time to revisit your capsule wardrobe and make-up bag content to give them the summer edit they are probably in much need of right now. Ultimately, you should be thinking of summer colours with which to brighten up your style along with beautiful nails to enrich your look overall. The latter speaks volumes about how much attention you pay to smaller detail. As the saying goes “Life can’t be perfect, but your nails can be” With this in mind, IBX treatment will leave your nails looking fabulously shiny and immaculate.
My beauty therapist filed and buffed my nails before adding the IBX repair solution. She allowed my nails to dry for about 40 seconds using infrared light. The latter helps to penetrate the repair solution into your nails in order to strengthen the nail plate.
A top coat was applied by CND Vinylux. You can then apply another coat of repair solution if your nails are flaky and then place them in front of the infrared light for a further 40 seconds before placing your nails underneath a dryer for another 30-40 seconds. My therapist repeated this process after applying my choice of colour which was Crimson Sash by CND Vinylux. It’s important to wear a colour that will compliment your capsule wardrobe. Although my nail colour looked slightly autumnal in tone I found it versatile having uplifted my gold and silver accessories. This colour tends to suit soft or more neutral make-up such as a clear glossy or plum coloured lip which are my signature looks!
There are a number of benefits of IBX Treatment which include:
- creating a protective shield for the nail
- reducing white spots which can occur through the use of gel polish
- strengthens the upper layers of the nail plate allowing nail growth
- improves your natural nail colour and overall appearance of nails
- nail polish lasts for up to one week
IBX treatment is recommended once a week. It’s definitely worth having if you wish to give your nails a break from shellac or acrylics. The hidden benefit is that it doesn’t cost as much as other nail treatments leaving you with fabulous looking nails on a budget.
