Philipp Plein MFW AW14-15
“Wow” “Wow” “Wow” said Style Icon to every look from the Philipp Plein collection!! The entire experience of going backstage initially to watching the catwalk show and then finally meeting Philipp Plein after his show was one that has a fixed place in my memory; and a beautiful experience to remember at that!! This show was magnificent in every way. The set suggested danger, mystery, road rage with a black car parked in a gas station which was the theme of the set!! Just before the show commenced, out jumped the beautiful Rita Ora from the solitary car wearing none other than Philipp Plein which was to be expected; a long black skirt with a ruffled thigh-high split, a black cowboy hat, a simple black jumper and a pair of beautifully studded ankle boots. Rita Ora’s performance was draw-dropping as well as looking the part!! More cream was added to the cake when none other than the legendary Naomi Campbell opened the show still looking flawless! There were so many delicate ingredients to this amazing visual spectacle; once put together a fire started literally!! One of Style Icon’s favourite shows not only because of the genius format applied to executing an infectious show but because of the sheer glamour but yet extreme versatility of the collection. Yes, it had great catwalk appeal but you can still wear every piece on a day to day basis; looking so cool!!
The signature themes of Philipp Plein’s AW14-15 show were tartan, black and gold, rock ‘n’ roll chick, studs!! Overall, Philipp Plein’s creative vision is clearly cutting edge with the discerning woman in mind who wears her clothes with confidence and zest for life.
Philipp Plein founded his company in 1998, and introduced his first fashion collection comprising of clothing for men, women and children in 2004. He’s definitely one to watch for world-wide fashion domination!!
