John Galliano Sacked From Dior.

John Galliano has been creative director for Christian Dior for over 15 years having hugely influenced the worldwide sales of the company, now worth $10 billion. It was reported that the talented designer was sacked from Dior just last Friday 25th February 2011 for making rascist and anti-semitic comments in a Parisan bar. The release of a video shows Mr Galliano saying “I love Hitler”

Natalie Portman who is Jewish, and the face of a Christian Dior fragrance stated that “In the light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr Galliano in any way.” She was also reported to be “deeply shocked, and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments.”

At this year’s Oscar ceremony only two celebrities; Nicole Kidman and Sharon Stone, were dressed in Dior normally a staple of the red carpet. The question is “is it the end of an era for Mr Galliano whose comments have cost him a life-long career?”
